Letter from the Head Teacher, Mrs Margaret Knuckey
Welcome to Warton Nethersole’s C of E Primary School. I took up post in February 2007 and at present I do not have a class responsibility which enables me to move between classes and teach when class teachers are on training courses or managing their subject areas.
We hope as you come through the door and walk around school you will feel a friendly, welcoming and very busy atmosphere.
At present our school is divided into five classes, in which the children are placed according to age, because of the size of the school these classes are of mixed ages and abilities. However, work is differentiated and there is a high percentage of Teaching Assistants, who often work with smaller groups. As a Church school we seek to create an atmosphere in which everyone is valued and able to learn well and develop their full potential as well as exploring areas of faith and ultimate questions.
As a village, Church, school we are very aware of the community we are a part of. We have links with the over 60s, who come into school, with the local farms and the church. We use the library at Polesworth and share activities with Austrey and Newton Regis village schools.
The school welcomes visitors, new and prospective parents, governors and present parents. If you wish to visit us during the school day [which is obviously more informative] we would welcome a telephone call to arrange a time when I am free and can chat to you. The children will be delighted to show you around and tell you what is happening - they love having visitors!
I hope as you read through this website, you will glean from it the philosophy, aims and ethos of our school and will want to find out more by visiting us. Although this website will give you information, we will be able to tell you so much more during a visit.
