Help Needed!

The Friends of Warton School need your help to make the Summer Fayre on July 12 the great event we've come to look forward to every year. Volunteers are needed to man stalls and generally help. Read more about the Friends of Warton School and how to contact them on the link here.

Stackable Chairs For Sale

The school has around 30 stackable, used chairs for sale, since receiving the new set mentioned in a previous newsletter. The chairs are the brown kind you will be familiar with from assemblies and events in the school hall! If you would like to buy any of these chairs, which are ideal for events of all kinds, please Contact the school. Chairs will be £2.00 each which of course goes towards school funds.

Events

This Year's KS2 show was the pantomime "Jack and the Beanstalk" based on the Roald Dahl version. The children worked very hard and this resulted in an exciting and hilarious performance. The laughter and applause from the packed audiences showed their enjoyment, and the Pre-school visitors were especially impressed by the Giant!

Monday 7th July: Sports Day in the afternoon, 1.30 pm. Parents welcome.
Tuesday 8th July: Tutankhamen Visit
Tuesday 8th July:  Last Induction Afternoon: Pupils new to Reception for September 2008
Thursday 10th July. Leaver’s Service at Birmingham Cathedral.
Thursday 10th July. Open evening 4.00pm-6.30pm an opportunity to see work in the class rooms and meet their new class teachers.
Friday 11th July. Year 5/6 Tennis Final.
Saturday 12th July Summer Fayre: 1.00pm-4.00pm
Monday 14th July: Year 6 Sports Induction Day at PILC
Tuesday 15th July: Year 6 End of Year Surprise.
Wednesday 16th July; Music Concert 2.15pm

Holiday dates for the Summer Term.

Friday 18th July: School closes for the Summer Break.
Monday 1 September:School reopens for Autumn term.

After School Clubs

If your child signs up for an After School club could you notify the school if they are not attending on that evening. Most Clubs are run on a voluntary basis by teachers and in order to be effective Clubs need to have a least 10 children attending. If you child no longer wants to attend a chosen club please let the teacher know so that other children can have that place.
